2005 Mother Goose and Grimm Yearbook 2 Art Cartoon Collection [Paperback]

youre-getting-warmer-mother-goose-and-grimm-yearbook-2005-part-2-book-1

I recently purchased the You’re Getting Warmer Yearbook 2005 Part 2, and I must say, it’s a delightful addition to my comic book collection. The book, a creation of Grimmy, Inc. , is a treasure trove of Mother Goose and Grimm cartoons crafted by the talented Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist, Mike Peters.

The dimensions of the book are quite portable, fitting perfectly into my backpack, making it a great read for train commutes or plane rides. The comic strips are in English, which is a treat for English literature enthusiasts like me. With a whopping 88 pages, I found myself engrossed in the fascinating world of the Mother Goose and Grimm characters.

While I was engrossed in the overall experience, it wasn’t without its flaws. The book’s release date seemed a bit outdated, with it coming out in December 2013. I wish the publisher had released it sooner so it could reach a wider audience.

Overall, You’re Getting Warmer Yearbook 2005 Part 2 is a delightful addition to my library. It’s a book that, once picked up, is hard to put down. However, it’s not without its minor drawbacks, like the somewhat dated release date.

Mother Goose & Grimm’s Night of the Living Vacuum! [Book]

mother-goose-grimms-night-of-the-living-vacuum-book-1

I recently stumbled upon Mother Goose & Grimm’s Night of the Living Vacuum! and was instantly drawn in by the colorful illustrations and quirky humor. As a fan of comic books, I was eager to delve into this collection of award-winning Mother Goose and Grimm comic strips.

What stood out to me the most were the cartoon characters, who are a fresh and fun take on Mother Goose and other classic fairytale characters. The author’s unique sense of humor kept me entertained throughout the comic, and I found myself giggling at the unexpected twists in the story.

However, I noticed that the comic strip format can be a bit challenging for some younger readers to follow, as it relies on their comprehension of visual language. I would recommend this comic for readers who are comfortable with the comic strip format and enjoy a bit of whimsy in their storytelling.

Overall, Mother Goose & Grimm’s Night of the Living Vacuum! is a delightful addition to any comic book collection, and I look forward to seeing the characters come to life in the upcoming TV series.

Mother Goose and Grimm: Modern Fairy Tale Satire

the-portable-mother-goose-grimm-book-1

The Portable Mother Goose & Grimm captures the heart of modern-day life through its unique blend of classic fairy tale figures and satirical cartoons. As a dedicated reader, I’ve found this book to be a delightful companion for both young and old. The charming illustrations and clever commentary on everyday happenings make it an enjoyable read, whether you’re snuggling up for bedtime or sharing a laugh during family game night.

One of my favorite aspects is the book’s portability, as it’s compact enough to fit into a backpack or purse, making it perfect for on-the-go entertainment. Additionally, its durability ensures that it can withstand regular use, which is a definite plus for busy households. However, some readers might find the humor a bit too subtle for their liking, as it relies on the reader’s knowledge of the classic fairytale characters. Regardless, the creators have truly managed to breathe new life into beloved stories, offering a fresh and amusing take on the world of mother goose. All in all, The Portable Mother Goose & Grimm is a valuable addition to any family library.

Mother F. Goose Comic: Twisted Fairy Tale Reinventions

mother-f-goose-one-shot-1-cover-a-eisma-1

I recently dove into the weird world of “Mother F. Goose” One Shot #1, and let me tell you, it was a whirlwind of colorful chaos. The creators took some of the most beloved fairy tales out there and gave them a modern, twisted twist. As someone who grew up with classic fairy tales, I was taken aback by the drastic character changes. To give you an idea, the Three Little Pigs were revealed to be gluttonous casino owners, while Little Miss Muffet was a hard-nosed cop with a terrifying fear of spiders.

One thing I appreciated in this comic was the artwork by the talented Ryan Eisma. It had a distinctive style that reminded me of animation from the classic era with contemporary vibes. The color palette, too, was vibrant and eye-catching.

However, as much as this comic was visually appealing, not all characters or plotlines resonated with me. Take Puss in Boots, the feline-faced antagonist with a dubious past — I found it hard to relate to or feel empathy towards him.

While there were things that could have been better, the comic managed to surprise me and entertain. If you’re up for some alternative takes on fairy tale classics, MOTHER F. GOOSE One Shot #1 is worth a read!

Whimsical Mother Goose Comics: A Timeless Twist on Classic Rhymes

mother-goose-on-the-loose-book-1

Mother Goose On the Loose, a delightful hardback book published by Abrams, is an imaginative take on our beloved childhood stories and rhymes. The compilation features over 80 witty cartoons by artists like George Booth, Leo Cullum, George Price, and Jack Ziegler, with each cartoon accompanied by its original nursery rhyme.

As an engaging reader, I found the playful interpretations of classic tales to be both entertaining and thought-provoking. The rich satire and clever artwork in this book make for an enchanting and unique addition to familiar stories.

However, some of the cartoons might not quite resonate with younger readers, as the humor leans towards a more mature audience. Nevertheless, the overall charm and creativity of Mother Goose On the Loose make it a delightful addition to any bookshelf.

Unplucked Mother Goose: Crazy Comics and Fun Activities

mother-goose-unplucked-crazy-comics-zany-activities-nutty-facts-and-other-twisted-takes-on-childhood-1

I recently stumbled upon this quirky little book, Mother Goose Unplucked, and it’s been a refreshing change from the usual fairy tales I grew up with. As a parent, I’ve noticed that my kids get bored with the same old stories over and over again. This book, however, managed to capture their curiosity and imagination with its unique take on classic characters.

One of the features that stood out to me is the crafts, cartoons, recipes, riddles, writing projects, and brainteasers. These interactive activities have kept my kids engaged and entertained for hours on end. They also love the idea of the characters telling their own stories, like Rapper Rapunzel and the Big Bad Wolf, who now has a whole new backstory.

However, some of the humor might be a bit too mature for the younger age range specified. I had to make sure my kids understand that some of the jokes were meant for fun and not to be taken too seriously. Although this book is meant for “8 to 12 years” it could be a bit of an acquired taste for children on the younger side, depending on their maturity level.

Overall, Mother Goose Unplucked is a fun and playful addition to our book collection. Its unique blend of classic tales and modern humor has made it a hit with my kids, and I’m sure families across the board will appreciate this refreshing take on childhood favorites.

Mother Goose & Grimm: A Collection of Classic Comic Strips

mother-goose-grimm-book-1

As someone who has been an avid fan of comics since childhood, I was excited to dive into the world of Mother Goose & Grimm. It was a delightful experience to explore this unique book, where the classic nursery rhymes are brought to life through humor and wit.

The book’s playful illustrations and sharp humor were a standout — they captured my attention right from the start. The stories are well-crafted, and the writing is light-hearted, making it a joy to read.

However, there were a couple of drawbacks. The book’s binding was quite loose, which made it difficult to flip through the pages without them falling open. Additionally, some of the comics’ punchlines were quite predictable, which was a bit of a letdown.

Overall, Mother Goose & Grimm provides a lighthearted take on the classic nursery rhymes. It’s a fun read for both kids and adults, but the loose binding and predictable humor may be a turnoff for some.

grimmy-come-home-starring-mother-goose-grimm-book-1

I recently stumbled across “Grimmy Come Home: Starring Mother Goose & Grimm” and was instantly captivated. Mike Peter’s ability to infuse humor and wit into the classic tales of Mother Goose is truly a marvel. The 128-page book, released back in January 1990, is a timeless treasure that’s sure to bring joy to readers of all ages.

The dimensions of this delightful book, at 0.3 inches by 8.4 inches by 5.2 inches, make it a convenient and easy-to-carry companion, perfect for curling up with on long journeys or lazy Sunday afternoons. The English language, a natural pairing with the Mother Goose stories, seamlessly weaves their magic within the pages and offers a fresh and entertaining perspective.

While browsing through its pages, I couldn’t help but notice the charming sketches that adorn the book, providing the perfect visual companion to the whimsical tales. The introduction by the talented June Lockhart adds an extra touch of class and credibility to this collection, showcasing Grimmy in the best light possible.

I highly recommend “Grimmy Come Home: Starring Mother Goose & Grimm” to anyone looking for an entertaining and unique take on classic literature, and I am grateful for the swift delivery and excellent condition of the edition I received.

Kiki’s Delivery Service: Adventures in Magic and Friendship

kikis-delivery-service-film-comic-vol-3-book-1

I remember reading “Kiki’s Delivery Service” when I was young, and it was such a magical and heartwarming story. In the third volume, we follow Kiki’s journey as she embarks on a new adventure, learning the ropes of witchcraft amidst the vibrant oceanside city. Kiki’s experiences in the Aviation Club and her budding friendship with Tombo made the story even more endearing.

The paperback edition from Viz Media, Subs. of Shogakukan Inc. , has been a great addition to my book collection. This book is a perfect mix of whimsy and charm that is timeless, making it a great choice for both adults and children alike. The number of pages, at 152, provides just the right amount of content for a satisfying reading experience. I especially appreciated the engaging illustrations that added to the story’s enchanting atmosphere.

One minor downside is the book’s dimensions, which can sometimes make it challenging for me to hold and read comfortably for extended periods. However, overall, I have been very pleased with my experience with “Kiki’s Delivery Service” and have genuinely enjoyed revisiting the adventures of this lovable witch in the third volume.

Pogo Stepmother Goose Illustrated Mother Goose Comic

the-pogo-stepmother-goose-book-1

When I first got my hands on ‘The Pogo Stepmother Goose, ‘ I was in for a treat. It’s not just any reinterpretation of the classic Mother Goose tale, but it brought Pogo, the beloved comic character, into the mix in a delightful way. The hardcover edition with brown cloth cover has an elegant appeal, and the gilt-stamped illustration on the front adds a touch of class.

One of my favorite aspects was how Walt Kelly’s animation career was not only celebrated in the book, but also subtly woven into the story. As someone who loves animation, this made for a fun read. However, let’s talk about the condition of the book. The pages are near fine, but the edges do show signs of wear. The dust jacket, although in very good condition, has a 3-inch tear on the front panel and scuffing on the back panel. Considering the date of release, it’s not a bad look.

But the biggest cons for me were the missing highlights and user reviews. I would have loved to know more about this unique take on the classic Mother Goose tale and if others enjoyed it as much as I did. Overall, ‘The Pogo Stepmother Goose’ was a surprising and entertaining read that I wouldn’t mind having on my bookshelf.

Mother Goose: A Delightful Journey of Classic Tales

the-complete-mother-goose-book-1

As a mom who’s always loved story time with my little ones, I picked up The Complete Mother Goose to add some timeless favorites to our collection. The hardback binding and full-color illustrations make it a durable and visually appealing choice, perfect for sharing with my preschoolers.

On quiet afternoons, I’ve found it to be a cozy companion for my 4-year-old to read on his own. Despite its padded cover, I still appreciate the embossed touch that makes it look more polished in our library. However, the size of the book can be a bit unwieldy for small hands, and the older children in our household found it too simple for their taste.

But for us, it’s been a sweet addition to our bedtime routine, and a testament to the enduring charm of Mother Goose.
